WILDERNESS CAMP

Once known as Placid Pass, a popular resting point for travelers heading West in the Gold Rush, this patch of wilderness is known for calming nature and beautiful views. From hiking trails to obstacle courses, shopping to dining, there is something for everyone here. Our park offers 4 distinct areas, each with its own activities and enchanting scenery. Bring your pup and answer the call of the wild!

Doggy Junction
Main Entrance & Shopping

At Doggy Junction, there's a spot to curb every craving or purchase anything your pup desires. This small town square dates back to the 1860's when one of the first mail train routes ended right near our park entrance. Here, you can explore the old nature trailhead, or head into the town center for a more lively scene. Shop for

Goddard's Grotto
Splash Zone

Deep in the lush forest of Wilderness Camp is Goddard's Grotto, a heavenly playground of water for your pup! Filled with bubbling geysers and rushing waterfalls, this area was discovered by settlers of Doggy Junction who would bring their animals to relax, drink, and play. Today it is a favorite spot for dog paddlers and seafarers alike. Shake off in one of our custom doggy dryers or sunbathe on the banks of the stream. At night, the waters transform with shimmering light and mist for Spirits of Nirvana, a spectacular evening show.
